During their ride in air balloon along with Victor Vigny, Conor Broekhart is born, flying over Paris. Conor and his family reside on the Saltee Islands, off the Irish coast, which are ruled by King Nicholas Trudeau -- progressive leader who is helping the islands adapt to the industrialized world.

Conor spends his days with his tutor -- Victor Vigny, studying the science of flight. At one stage, Conor saves Isabella (Nicholas' daughter) from a fire accident, which awarded him the appreciation from the king for his bravery. From that day, he started to explore the castle with the king's daughter, Princess Isabella. Things started to change worse, when the head of the island's guards -- Marshall Bonvilain plans to overthrow Nicholas and take control of the Saltees.

When Conor comes to know about Bonvilain evil plans, he tries to expose it to the king, but Bonvilain succeeds him by killing King Nicholas and Victor and brands Conor as a traitor for the king’s death. So, Conor is thrown into jail on the prison island of Little Saltee. Is this the end of Conor? Will Bonvilain take over the Saltees?
