J. R. Ward is an American author, well-known for her contemporary romance. She began writing as a child, collecting her thoughts in diaries as well as inventing short stories.
Covet is the first novel in the 'Fallen Angels' series written by J R Ward, in which romance and redemption kick off between angels and demons as the final outcome is determined by seven battles for seven souls. The only thing that stands between those souls and damnation is Jim Heron -- a man, who has lived a life of sin and killing. As Jim is a former military killer, he has seen too much of the world.
Suddenly everything changes, when a freak accident kills him and he is brought back as a fallen angel with a mission, to save seven souls, each from one of the seven deadly sins in order to keep all that is good in the world. His first soul is Vin Di Peitro, who has spent all of his adult life working and became an incredibly successful business man, yet he never satisfied with what he has got.
On one night, Vin catches a glimpse of Marie-Terese across a crowded dance floor and from that second, Vin falls in love with Marie-Terese. Soon, Marie-Terese also experiences the same feel over Vin, which eventually ends in love. But a terrifying evil hanging over him since the Team Hell is cheating and trying to push Vin over the line and so, Vin Di Peitro must work with Jim to save his soul. Can Jim save the seven innocent souls?
