Ransom My Heart by Meg Cabot - An Enjoyable Medieval Romance Novel

Meg Cabot is an American author of romantic comedies, who has written and published over fifty books. She currently resides in Key West, Florida.

Ransom My Heart is a romance novel written by Mia Thermopolis with the help from Meg Cabot. According to the story, in the year 1291, Finnula Crais -- the adventurous daughter of the village miller has five sisters, and a brother named Robert.

One day, her sister Mellana Crais, the beauty of the family is in need of money for her dowry as she is pregnant out of wedlock. So, the sisters come up with a rather unusual plan, which involves Finnula, who has to find a wealthy man, to capture him for ransom in order to obtain the money that Mellana needs. Finnula decides to kidnap Hugo Fitzstephan, a young earl who has returned from the Crusades with quite a large fortune. When Hugo is asked his name by Finnula, he hides his true identity by conveying a fake name to her.

Soon, Finnula who has decided never to marry again after her first husband died before their wedding night, finds herself fighting her attraction for Hugo. Moreover, Hugo is also attracted by Finnula’s character and charming beauty that makes him to stay with her as a hostage, even though he gets many chances to escape from her.

Soon, Finnula and Hugo falls in love with each other and when Finnula decides to marry him, things started to change as she comes to know about his true identity. Moreover, she also learns that Hugo’s father was her first husband, who was also an earl. Will Finnula marry Hugo?
