Lucy-Anne Holmes is one of the talented authors in writing observational humor. 50 ways to find a lover is a romance book written by Lucy-Anne Holmes in which a playful insight into the life of a modern woman is brought out in a hilarious manner.

According to the plot, Sarah Sargeant is out of work actress who has a hilarious and charming character and is looking for a man as she felt her loneliness to be a carnal drought due to the fact that she was not having sex for the past 351 days. Sarah has been single for three years and nine months. She also tried for a date with a barman in her local pub, but her proposal was rejected. She knew it very well that her pride has not just been bruised, but it's been disemboweled.

Due to the disappointments and frustrations, Sarah decides that she will never approach out to a member of the opposite sex. Knowing this, her family and friends helped her out by suggesting other ideas. As per the suggestions, she starts a blog to register her search for a man, which will surely force her to actually search for a man. Fortunately, due to blogging she finds that men seem to be falling over themselves to get to know about her.
