Highland Scandal by Julia London - A Sinful Romance

Julia London is the penname of Dinah Dinwiddie, who was born and grew up on a ranch in Texas. She is a well-known American writer of romantic novels, who has worked as a public administrator before she came into her writing profession.

Highland Scandal” is a sinful romantic novel written by Julia London, in which she plots out the life of a fugitive nobleman having a meaningless relationship with a lovely young lady. Jack Haines -- the Earl of Lambourne has been accused of adultery with the Princess of Wales, Caroline. Even though, Jack is innocent, falsely been named to such activities, he packs his bags and heads to his nativeScotland since the Prince of Wales wanted him to be punished for his adultery. So Jack rushes to his native, very keen that he shouldn’t get caught by the men sent by the Princess of Wales. Jack’s sister has already left the message to him that he will be hang to death if he is been found guilty.

During his risky journey, Jack is perceived by two Scots bounty hunters in the remote corner of the Highlands. After knowing his problem, these two hunters offer him a deal which would save him from his charges. Instead he has to help them out from their family problem. These hunters need Jack to get engaged with their sister, Lizzie Beal in order to ward-off a suitor from a powerful rival clan -- intending to control their land. Instead of getting hanged in London for his false charges, he wisely accepts to marry Lizzie, who is not interested to marry this fugitive nobleman. Is jack safe in marrying Lizzie? Will Lizzie fall in love over Jack?
